Blog Post; What makes you come alive?

Blog Post 5; what makes you come alive?

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” I personally love this quote because it gives a sense of joy.  The world does not need us to suffer.  Nobody should think they don’t have a purpose.  Everybody should find out who they are and what they enjoy to do, and go do it.  The smallest things can make the biggest differences.  By one person awakening their dreams, they can inspire other people to do the same as they have done.

What makes me come alive is something that I know yet it is hard to explain.  Helping people is what helps me come alive.  It helps me to know who I am, who I want to be, and how I want people to be treated.  I love to help everyone, but especially with special needs or autistic people.  I like this because they are so fun.  Their stories are fun to listen to and very entertaining.  They have such a big heart.  They can take you from laughing your butts off, to crying your eyes out.

Helping people may not seem like a big difference, but in my eyes, it is a huge difference.  Everybody is unique in their own ways.  I love helping people for my own good instead of being forced to help someone.  Although it is a small way of coming alive, it is my way of coming alive.  I hope to inspire people by doing this and making it a universal difference.

Bost Post 4, Average 5 People

Blog Post 4; Average 5 people

I personally believe that what Jim Rohn said about “You’re the average of the five people you spend time with”, is true.  I believe this because what you surround yourself with is who you are going to turn out to be like.  The way people talk, the way people act, the way people dress, and most importantly the way people are.  If you are to be around them all the time, they start to wear off on you and you start to change.

The five people I spend the most time with are my mom, my dad, my brother, Havan Harris, and Cierra Matherly.  From hanging out with these people, I have accepted their personalities and honestly feel like I have become a better person.  They all encourage me to stay in the right direction with my life and to make the right choices.  I feel as if they are by my side, it is easier to make a decision.  Since the acceptance of their personalities, I see where we have all become similar with each other and it comes to show that we have all worn off on each other and started to become closer.

It honestly does not bother me that the people that I hang out with and I are become similar.  We each have our own personalities, but being that we are all so close, we have shared our likes and dislikes with each other.  I love being around the people I hang out with and I do believe that I am the average of them.

Blog Post; Society

Blog Post 3; Society, Why can’t you solve your own problems?

While many people have pin-point problems that society faces, I believe societies biggest problem is society itself.  Nothing ever goes right in society.  Society persuades you to wear nice clothing, buy nice things, have nice cars, and just to be materialistic.  Instead of worrying about how we are on the inside, we are worried about our outside attraction and how people judge us.  Society, itself, is a huge problem.

If we did not care so much about what people said about us or thought about us, life would be a lot easier.  Society finds a way to get in our life and change us to what it wants us to be.  If we kept to our own selves, we would not be worried about how people looked at us, much less society.  Whether you realize it or not, we are all pulled into society.  Most of us do things to make us look good or just because everyone else is doing it.

For example, you see someone poor on the side of the road.  You are by yourself and you can’t seem to take your eyes off them.  You feel bad and honestly have that guilty feeling in your tummy.  You decide to give them a few dollars.  A few days later, you and your buddy are riding down the road and you see that same person.  He starts to laugh.  You don’t want your friend to make fun of you, so you start laughing with him and drive right by that same person that you had just felt bad for a few days before.  This example goes to show that we do things unintentionally or just to be accepted by others.

Don’t make the same mistakes other people are making.  Be an advocate and be yourself.

Blog 5 - Fears

Blog Post 2- Fears

My largest fear is spiders.  I have never liked spiders because they are nasty, hairy, creepy crawlers.  Seeing them gives me chills and makes me want to cry and scream.  Spiders not only look disgusting but they could also harm you depending on if they bite you or not.  On the average, two people per year die because of a spider bite.  Although it is a small amount of deaths, others still struggle with the bites by taking in a disease or other harmful effects on the person.

It is honestly scary to think that such small creatures could hurt you in such a large manner.  Spiders can range from huge to itty bitty.  Even though this is a factor, I don’t like them big or little.  Spiders also can range from dangerous to not dangerous.  Many spiders around here are not dangerous though, which is a good thing.

Spider bites are very rare.  Depending on what kind of spider bite, you may become very ill or sick.  There are many precautions to these bites.  There are prescriptions to follow through with if the bite is more severe than normal.  If it is a small bite, you can take a nonprescription medicine.  You may also want to try rubbing some crème or spraying certain spray on there to help relieve the bite and treat it.  You may also want to try putting a cold rag on it before this.

Spiders are scary in my opinion.  They are not my favorite creature at all.  I try to stay away from them as much as I can.

Blog 5: extended quote me

Blog 5; Quotes

Below are the quotes I found that fit my life well:

1.      “Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”

2.      “Never do something permanently foolish just because you are temporarily upset.”

3.      “It’s better to know and be disappointed than to never know and always wonder.”

The first quote is a quote that I rely on to help me strive to move on when something bad happens.  Although it could be something upsetting that could hurt you or change you, it happened for a reason.  When something bad happens, it could be for a better.  Never look down, continue to have an uplifting spirit.

The second quote is a quote that helps me from making unnecessary decisions.  It is saying that even though you are temporarily upset, you should not choose stupid decisions.  Even though you are angry or upset, you might do something dumb that you could possibly regret in the future.  It could be something that haunts you or that you look back on for the rest of your life.

The third quote is a quote that I often wonder about.  It honestly puts a better perspective of life in front of you.  If you knew about something, then perhaps you would try to change it or just continue and not get hurt.  Knowing something in a situation is so much easier than not knowing.  If you wonder all the time, it’s going to make you worry about the time.  If you are worrying, you’re not trusting; If you are trusting, you’re not worrying.

Below are quotes that I have originally formed:

1.      ”God won’t put you to it if he won’t pull you through it.”

2.      “Don’t take a second for granted.”

1.      This picture explains that God will take us through many obstacles, but he will always help us out and give us the strength to pull through.

2.      This picture explains that life is a beautiful ride.  Don’t take a second for granted.  You will be placed in plenty of miserable events, but don’t ever lose hope.  We are fortunate.
*I emailed you the pictures because they would not upload onto here*

Blog 1; Free Response

Blog 1; Free Response

Jesse Hourigan, one of my best friends, was diagnosed with leukemia last December.  Leukemia is a cancer of the blood or bone marrow.  It affects anything and everything in your body once it spreads.  It is an extremely harmful disease.

I met Jesse about 5 or 6 years ago.  After moving from Colorado, he settled in my neighborhood.  He moved in right across the road from me; this caused us to cross paths at an instant.  We saw him, his mother, his father, and his sister unpacking boxes out of the huge moving truck.  Soon neighbors were piled around helping pull boxes out, spread them throughout the house, and start organizing.  My brother and I went over there to help and from that day forward, our lives changed.

Jesse was always so mean to me when we first met.  He made fun of me, would not want me to be around him, and did not want me in his room.  This changed in later years to come.  Jesse became not only a best friend to me, but a brother at heart.  He always took care of me at school, he always made sure that I was doing the right things, and always made sure that no guys were trying to touch me.  He was protective, but it showed that he truly did care.  I will never forget this about him.

Now that leukemia has taken over Jesse’s life, it hurts to see him the way that he is.  I’ve always seen him as a strong fighter; a fighter that could do anything; almost like a superhero.  Now that he is incapable of all his old ways, you can tell that he is getting weaker and weaker.  Life is starting to take a toll and slow down.  He continues to fight, but physically, he is too weak.  We do continue to hope and pray that Jesse gets better, although seconds are getting shorter.

Seeing everything that Jesse has been through and still going through is eye-opening.  It shows not to take anything for granted and to enjoy everything because nothing ever stays forever.  I continue to pray that Jesse will get better.  From here on, we have to trust in God because he has a plan for each and every one of us.  Not only is Jesse my best friend, he is my hero.

I love summer and winter, but fall happens to be my favorite season.

I love summer because it’s a couple months of relaxation and fun.  You can go to the pool, beach, lake, water parks, vacations, and so much more.  It’s the time of year where your parents let you stay out late and you can wear cute shorts and tanks.

I like winter because you can go skiing, play in the snow, and so much more fun activities.  During this season, you have to cover up in warm clothes and sit back and enjoy a nice hot cup of hot chocolate or coffee.

Most importantly, I love fall the most.  Fall is a perfect season for what I consider “cuddling weather”.  Since the cool air outside gets you chilly, it would be nice to cuddle up on the couch, watch a movie, and drink a cup of hot chocolate or coffee.  I love wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts so this weather is absolutely perfect for it.  The leaves start to fall off the trees and it gets prettier and prettier outside.  The sky becomes a light blue.  During this season, it gets darker earlier in the evening and the sun rises earlier in the morning.  There are many pros and cons to this.

While other people like the warmer and hotter weather, I tend to like the cool weather.  Fall is my favorite season because of the coolness of the season, the changes outside, the leaves, and all of the other activities that I have stated above.
